How Much Time Do You Spend Outdoors?

Many people tend to overlook the simplicity of being outside. With the busy lives most American’s have, finding time to enjoy the outdoors doesn’t come often. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average American spends 93% of their life indoors. 87% of their life is inside buildings, then another 6% of their life in automobiles. With that being said, that means on average humans only spend 7% of your entire life outdoors. ONLY 7%. THAT’S IT.

Being within nature can provide so many beneficial aspects. I have a firm belief that being outside can be linked to better moods and a better outlook on life. Most of us get so busy with our everyday lives and often forget that being within nature is just a step away. Being involved with our environment is just as simple as taking a walk, a run, a bike ride, skiing, swimming, and so much more. Nature is free, so we often take it for granted, when it is so easy to embrace it.

How much time do you spend outdoors? Are you apart of the population who only participates with 7%, or do you appreciate the time you have within nature?

I took this while hiking the Flume Gorge(which is super close to school!)
